# Badges and updates

> Label things inline with badges, and group release notes with Update.

A `Badge` labels something inline, and `Update` groups the notes of one release under a label.

## Badge

`Badge` is a small gray label inside a line of text.

```mdx theme={"system"}
Scheduled posts <Badge>New</Badge>
```

`Badge` takes no props.

## Update

`Update` groups the notes of one release under a label, with the label in a column on the left or above the notes on phones. Use it to put several releases on one page or to structure a long changelog entry.

```mdx theme={"system"}
<Update label="v2.1.0" description="October 2026">
  Plan releases on a shared calendar.
  Fixed time zones in scheduled posts.
</Update>
<Update label="v2.0.0" description="September 2026">
  Acme Flow is live.
</Update>
```

<ResponseField name="label" type="string" required>
  The release name or version, which also becomes the anchor, so you can link `v2.1.0` as `#v2-1-0`.
</ResponseField>

<ResponseField name="description" type="string">
  A second line under the label, like a date.
</ResponseField>

Like other components, keep the content of an `Update` to short paragraphs, because lists inside it show without bullets.

Updates carry the class `update`.
