Overview

Billing is per organization, and you open Settings > Billing & Usage to change your plan, add the zero data retention add-on, see invoices and track usage. Manage AI credits under Settings > Credits.

Plans

Notra has three self-serve plans plus Enterprise, and every plan is available monthly or annually. All plans include unlimited social posts and unlimited tracked prompts across all major AI models. References beyond the included amount cost, per reference per month, 0.05onStarter,0.05 on Starter, 0.04 on Growth and $0.03 on Scale. Starter and Growth get standard support plus Slack, Scale gets priority support and Enterprise gets dedicated support. Zero data retention is a paid add-on on Starter, Growth and Scale, and is included on Enterprise.
The plan cards on the billing page come from the live billing catalog, so if they ever differ from this table, the plan cards are correct.

What the quotas mean

  • AI answers tracked. Every answer Notra collects from an AI model during a GEO scan counts as one, and persona conversations count twice per answer. When a workspace pays with AI credits instead, persona runs cost twice their model usage. This quota covers prompt tracking, competitor tracking and share of voice.
  • Long-form posts. This quota covers changelogs and blog posts.
  • Social posts. LinkedIn and X posts are unlimited on every plan.
  • Image generations. This quota covers generated social images.
  • Projects. This is the number of brands or products you can track separately in GEO.
  • References. These are real posts attached to brand identities to teach the writer your voice.
Quotas reset monthly.

Legacy Basic and Pro plans

Organizations that subscribed before the current plans launched can stay on Basic or Pro. The billing page shows them as the equivalent Starter or Growth tier, while invoices still say Basic or Pro. Switching to a current plan is a normal plan change.

Without a plan

An organization without an active plan can sign in and manage settings, but:
  • GEO pages show GEO is locked on your current plan, because GEO needs a Starter, Growth or Scale plan
  • API requests return 402 Active subscription required
  • Content generation needs plan quota or AI credits

Managing your subscription

Choosing a plan

1

Open Billing

Go to Settings > Billing & Usage, where the Billing tab opens by default.
2

Pick an interval

Toggle between Monthly and Yearly above the plan cards.
3

Optionally add zero data retention

Each card has a toggle to include the ZDR add-on in the same checkout.
4

Select the plan

Click the button on the card, which reads Get Started, Upgrade or Downgrade depending on your current plan, or Start Free Trial when the plan offers a trial you are eligible for.
5

Complete checkout

Notra sends you to a secure checkout page for payment details and then back to Notra, and your new limits apply as soon as the subscription is active.
Your active plan has a Current badge, or Trial while a trial is running.

Changing or cancelling

Click Manage Subscription at the top of the billing page to open the customer portal, where you can update the payment method, download invoices and cancel. You can also pick a different plan card to move between tiers.
Scheduled changes, such as a downgrade or cancellation that takes effect at the end of the current period, show on the plan card as Plan Scheduled.

Zero data retention add-on

Zero data retention (ZDR) routes your prompts and answers only through model hosts that keep no prompt or answer data. ZDR costs 20% of your plan price and is available on Starter, Growth and Scale. Enable it from the Add-ons section of the billing page, or with the toggle on a plan card during checkout. Before it activates, you must acknowledge the following:
  • Availability is not guaranteed for every model, because ZDR exists only where the gateway Notra routes through holds a zero-data-retention agreement with that model’s provider.
  • New models usually launch without ZDR, and Notra excludes them until a ZDR option exists.
  • Notra skips models without a ZDR host, which GEO settings marks, and they do not run unless you approve each one.
  • Gateway and provider terms can change, so if a provider withdraws an agreement, Notra excludes that model from your scans until an alternative is available.
Removing the add-on takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.

AI credits

AI credits are a prepaid dollar balance that Notra draws on when a plan quota runs out. When a long-form post, image generation or GEO scan would exceed your monthly quota, Notra charges credits instead, and if there are no credits either, Notra blocks the action and asks you to upgrade or add credits.

Viewing and topping up

Settings > Credits shows your remaining balance, how much of the included balance you have used and a usage chart, but it only appears when your plan includes AI credits. Click Top Up Credits to add between 5and5 and 500 in one purchase. The dialog offers 5,5, 10, 25and25 and 50 presets or a custom amount and then takes you through checkout.

Automatic pauses

Notra pauses automations that fail because credits ran out or a plan limit was reached, and emails owners the reason. Add credits or upgrade, and then re-enable the schedule or event trigger.

Invoices

The Invoices table on the billing page lists every invoice with:
  • Date. Click the column header to sort ascending or descending.
  • Description. This is the plan or add-on charged, for example Starter, Growth, Zero data retention or AI Credits Top-up.
  • Amount
  • Status
Click a row to open the hosted invoice, where you can download a PDF and see the itemized charges.

Usage tracking

Open the Usage tab on the billing page to see, for the current period:
  • Every limited feature with the amount used, the limit and a progress bar
  • Features that are unlimited on your plan
  • AI credits spent
When a metered quota is used up, the affected feature falls back to AI credits, and with no credits available it stays blocked until the quota resets or you upgrade.
Team member seats are also plan-limited, so when the organization is out of seats, invitations fail with a View plans link. See team management.

Billing FAQs

Some plans offer a trial, and if one is available to you, the plan card button reads Start Free Trial and the card shows a Trial badge while it runs. If you see Get Started instead, that plan has no trial for your organization.
Yes, open Manage Subscription and cancel from the customer portal. Your plan stays active until the end of the current period.
No, monthly quotas reset at the start of each period.
Yes, pick the new plan on the billing page and complete checkout, and the new limits apply immediately.
Anyone in the organization can open the billing page and change the plan, so restrict membership if you want to limit this.
We handle refunds case by case, so contact hello@usenotra.com with the invoice details.

Best practices

Pick annual billing if you are staying. An annual plan costs ten times the monthly price.
Watch AI answers. GEO scans are the quota most teams hit first, so reduce the number of tracked prompts or models, or move up a tier, before the month runs out.
Keep a small credit balance. A top-up prevents automations from pausing when a quota runs out near the end of the period.
