How it is calculated
Mention rate = answers that mention you / all saved answers, for the selected engines, languages and date range.- An answer counts as a mention when the judge finds your company name or any alias in it.
- Every saved answer has equal weight and answers that do not name you count as zero, so adding prompts you rank poorly on lowers the rate.
- The dashboard shows the delta against the first half of the selected range.
- The rate counts every saved answer in the range: all tracked languages, conversations and persona conversations. A conversation counts as one answer, and it counts as a mention when any of its turns mentions you.
- Per-prompt views show each tracked prompt once, in your prompt language.
Where to find it
- Mentions card and Mention rate by engine table on the GEO Overview page.
What moves it
- Prompt mix: adding or pausing prompts changes the denominator.
- Engine mix: each engine has its own rate, so adding a weak engine pulls the total down.
- Aliases: a missing product name or domain alias hides real mentions.
- Content: closing content gaps and earning shelf space gets more answers to name you, while the other three only change what Notra counts rather than how often engines mention you.
