Creating your first workspace
Signing up for Notra starts a four-step onboarding flow whose first step creates your organization, the workspace where content, GEO tracking, automations, integrations and team members live. Every workspace URL starts with its slug, as inapp.usenotra.com/your-slug.
1
Workspace
Enter an organization name and a slug, which Notra generates from the name and you can edit. Add your website so Notra can pick up your brand voice from it, and tell us where you heard about Notra.
2
Visibility
Notra asks ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini the questions your buyers ask and shows whether you appear, who appears instead and how to fix it. Pick up to 20 prompts to track from the suggestions or add your own.
3
Competitors
Confirm the competitors Notra detected or add the ones you want to track share of voice against.
4
Pricing
Choose a plan, keeping in mind that GEO tracking requires a Starter, Growth or Scale plan. If a plan offers a free trial the button reads Start free trial. See Billing & Plans.
While the visibility and competitor steps run, Notra also analyzes your website in the background to create a default brand identity. If you already have a workspace with a paid subscription, Notra skips onboarding and you land in that workspace.
Creating additional workspaces
Click the organization name at the top of the sidebar and choose the option to create a new organization. The dialog asks for a name, a slug and an optional website, and you can belong to as many organizations as you like, with a different role in each.Organization settings
Manage your workspace from Settings > General.Basic information

Updating workspace settings
- Navigate to Settings > General

Two-factor authentication
Notra supports two-factor authentication with any TOTP authenticator app such as 1Password, Google Authenticator or Authy. Once it is on, every sign-in asks for a code from your app after your password or your Google or GitHub login.Turning it on
1
Open Account settings
Go to Settings > Account, find Two-factor authentication and click Set up.
2
Scan the QR code
Scan it with your authenticator app, and if you can’t scan it, click Can’t scan it? to copy the setup key instead.
3
Enter the code
Type the 6-digit code your app shows, and two-factor authentication turns on as soon as Notra accepts the code.
4
Save your backup codes
Notra shows 10 one-time backup codes that you should store somewhere safe. Each code works once and lets you sign in if you lose access to your authenticator app.
Signing in with a backup code
On the code prompt during sign-in, choose the backup code option and enter one of your unused codes. Signing in this way removes the authenticator from your account so you can set up a new one from Settings > Account.Managing backup codes
Settings > Account shows how many backup codes are left. Click Regenerate to get a fresh set and confirm with a code from your authenticator app or an unused backup code, which invalidates every earlier code.Turning it off
Under Two-factor authentication, click Remove next to your authenticator app and confirm with a code from the app or an unused backup code, which also deletes your backup codes.Backup codes and a fresh code from your authenticator app are the only ways to turn two-factor authentication off or regenerate codes, because being signed in isn’t enough on its own.
Brand identity
Notra writes content in your voice using the brand identities under Studio > Brand Identity in the sidebar. A workspace can have several identities, for example Marketing, Technical and Internal, and one of them is the default. The page has four tabs:- Company Info: profile, tone, language and audience for the selected identity
- References: real posts that teach the writer your style
- Sitemap: pages Notra can link to and monitor for AI discovery
- Brand Guidelines: logos, colors, typography and screenshots pulled from your site
Website analysis
1
Enter your website URL
On a new workspace, or when adding an identity, enter your website (for example

Wait for the analysis
Notra scrapes the site, extracts the profile and saves it while the stepper shows Scraping, Extracting and Saving.
3
Review the result
Notra fills in the company name, description and tone from your site, and you can adjust anything that is off.
